Let's build a Suposhit Bharat by empowering communities with better nutrition and healthier habits
In Bharat, malnutrition, poor hygiene, and lack of nutrition awareness remain among the most pressing public health challenges, directly impacting growth, learning outcomes, productivity, and overall wellbeing of communities. These challenges not only slow progress but also fuel rising cases of malnutrition, anemia, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, anxiety, depression, digestive disorders, cancer, and even early heart attacks among youth, driven by unhealthy diets and lifestyle practices. Addressing this dual burden is critical for realizing the vision of a Swacch aur Poshit Bharat and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals — SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health & Wellbeing), and SDG 6 (Clean Water & Sanitation).
SuPoshan-Samvad is Supansha Development Foundation’s flagship targeted nutrition and hygiene initiative, conceptualized to address critical gaps in malnutrition, dietary practices, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and preventive health care in Bharat. Strategically designed for direct and measurable community impact, the program focuses on priority groups including school and college students, anganwadi centre beneficiaries, children and lactating mothers, adolescent girls, women, elderly populations, TB patients, and vulnerable families. By integrating education, behavior change, and resource support, SuPoshan-Samvad strengthens community resilience, enhances food security, and promotes sustainable wellbeing, ensuring that communities not only gain awareness but also adopt long-term healthy habits.
Initiated in collaboration with Dabur, the SuPoshan-Samvad program has been active since 2024 across schools, anganwadi centres, colleges, urban slums, tribal villages, and institutional and cultural platforms. It focuses on community education, student engagement, WASH promotion, kitchen gardening, and the distribution of nutritious resources. As part of its targeted interventions, TB patients receive specialized Nutrition Food Baskets through the STAMPING-TB initiative, women and adolescent girls are supported with special free gift packs under the SADHIKA-SAKHI program, and blood donors along with other beneficiaries are provided energy drinks through the REVITALS program to support nutrition, recovery, and overall health. Together, these efforts contribute to building healthier, more resilient communities.
